This isn't one of our normal blog posts. It's more of a journal entry, than anything else.
You see, I'm a bit sad today. The Raw Spirit Festival in Santa Barbara, CA, started today and I'm not there. We've been working really hard on many raw food projects, trying to sell our home, etc. So, spending the time and money to travel to the other side of the country for a weekend event just didn't seem like a good idea.I don't think we made the wrong decision, but I do admit I was hoping that somehow the Universe would conspire in some magical way to arrange for me to attend the festival this weekend.
For those who have never been to a Raw Spirit Festival, you might wish that you could attend something so totally awesome---to be surrounded by raw foodies you've met online, to attend the various speeches and events at the festival, etc.---but you probably aren't feeling completely sad that you aren't there. To have attended a Raw Spirit Festival, had your entire life altered by the experience, and then to not attend the next one is almost heartbreakingly sad.
I know it wasn't meant to be this time, but I've decided today that NOTHING is going to stop me from attending the next two Raw Spirit Festivals coming up this year (one in Maryland, the other in Arizona). So, let me know if you'll be at either of those and we'll be sure to meet up together!
For those of you who are attending the festival this weekend, I'm super excited for you (especially if it's your first time---you are in for the time of your life!). Don't forget to share your memories of the event on the All Raw Directory. There's a category for Raw Spirit Festival Memories---where you can post links to your blog posts, photos, videos, etc., to share your experience with everyone else in the raw food community! I'm certainly looking forward to enjoying the event through all that everyone shares on the All Raw Directory!
My lovely friend Rawbin has been sharing pictures and little bits of excitement about the festival over on Twitter. It has been exciting to see everyone, even though it's bittersweet, and I hope she and many others will be sharing a lot more as the weekend progresses!
Even though I'm a bit sad, I'm still filled with happiness for everyone who is able to attend the festival this weekend!
*blows kisses to everyone*

I am sad too and I live in California. It's a little too far for me to go. Bummer. If I went to one, I'm sure I would go back over and over again. I am missing my husband support on this one. He's not a raw food guy so he doesn't understand its importance

Hey Wendi,
As I read your comment about "trying" to sell your home I recalled how, in regards to the Universe and LOA, that "trying " to do anything is like paddling upstream and going against the flow :-) I bet if you and Jim told yourselves the story of it already being sold every day ( several times a day for a few minutes if you can ) and spent time each day FEELING the joy and enthusiasm and excitement of already being on the road in the RV it will sell very quickly ! You are so lucky that both of you are on this journey together and have each other to co-create with. Many of us are not so fortunate in our relationships when it comes to raw food, spirituality etc. I bet if the two of you really focused your energy together and consistently told the story of what you want as if it has already happened every day (really help each other to FEEL the excitement of it!) your house will be sold within the next 4 weeks! :-)

Thanks, Lois. Once you attend one, you'll want to go to all of them! I'm headed to the next two this year! I don't want to miss another one!

You are right, Joanne. ;-) We were quite positive with our collective thoughts, but I have to admit that I started to get depressed about being *stuck* here and I wasn't overly positive all the time. ;-)
Lots of love to you,
Wendi

Wendi,
I wanted to let you know that I'll be at the Raw Food Festival in Maryland. I recently found your video and was so inspired that I've transitioned to raw food. In fact, whenever I need some motivation, I go back to your video (which is saved in my favorites). I would love to meet you there.

Yes, I'll be at RSF in Maryland and I'd love to meet you there! If enough of the Pure Jeevan family is attending, I'll see about securing a meet-up location/time for all of us! :-)
Lots of love to you,
Wendi

Aww...you're so sweet, Debbie! I love that the RSFs are located all over so that more people can attend them, but I also really enjoyed that more people got together when it was just one event last year.
I hope to see you and all our other raw friends very soon!
Lots of love to you,
Wendi
