This has been floating around the web for a day or two, but for those who haven't seen it, here's former President Bill Clinton talking about his plant-based diet, and what he hopes to gain through it. How amazing to see an *American president* discussing this sort of thing!! Who'd have ever imagined this (considering the strength of the beef and dairy lobbies in this country)?
Stories like this give me hope that the world will become more health conscious -- and will begin to understand that things like irradiation, GMO technology, pesticides, and all of the scary discussion floating around about the "Codex" are all unnatural, unsustainable, and unhealthy for us and for the planet. All you need is love -- and delicious organic foods! Glad to see Bill Clinton advocating this.
By the way, I wonder who the Clinton's use as a raw chef? ?I wonder if they've visited Pure Jeevan or the All Raw Directory? Mr. and Mrs. Clinton: Could we offer to demonstrate some delicious raw food recipes for you? Feel free to drop us a line. :-)

Thanks for sharing this, but I didn't hear Mr. Clinton say that the plant foods he eats are raw except for the fruit he puts into his protein shake. Did I miss something?

LOL, I guess my final paragraph did seem to imply that his diet must be raw... Clearly, that's not necessarily true, although I'd lay money on there being a lot more salads in his daily routine. Anyway, I didn't run this to suggest that he's *raw*; rather, to share excitement that an American President is bringing significant positive attention to what basically amounts to a vegan existence (although he did mention occasional fish). It's huge news for health & nutrition in general, as veganism is still considered rather radical in the mainstream -- and so this will surely lead to increased dietary awareness in this country... and that, indirectly, will lead more people to discover *raw* foods. Personally, while we're certainly all about discussing raw foods here, I don't necessarily think that every person has to be raw in order to benefit from vegetarianism and/or veganism. Look at Clinton... he lost 24 pounds by simply going mostly vegan. For Wendi and me, vegetarianism and veganism alone didn't heal us. Based on our genetics, we *had* to take that next step to raw foodism (or, at least to high-raw).
