Happy Navratri!
You haven't been hearing much from me (Wendi) lately, for a variety of reasons. Over the next few days, I'll be celebrating Navratri and posting here on the blog at the end of each day. In my posts, I'll be sharing some of what has been going on with me and why you haven't seen much of me around, as well as comments on my celebration of Navratri.
Navratri is a Hindu celebration that translates to "nine nights." During the nine nights of celebration, Hindus traditionally abstained from eating (Navratri is sometimes simply referred to as "the nine day fast"). In modern times, however, with everyone working and life being less relaxed, fasting isn t always something that can easily be accomplished. So, over the years Navratri has been modified by many to represent a time of eating more simply and abstaining from meat if you eat it.
In the past, I celebrated Navratri by consuming only mono meals, which allowed my body to spend energy on things other than digesting heavy, complex foods (yes, even raw foods can be heavy and complex at times). When a person is consuming only mono meals, it can mean there is only one solitary food (usually a fruit or vegetable) consumed for each meal, with the food changing from meal-to-meal, or it can mean one solitary food that is consumed for a full 24 hours, or longer (some individuals mono meal on one fruit for a month, or longer).
Once again I'll be celebrating Navratri by consuming only mono meals. I'm beginning with a full day of bananas and we'll see where it goes from there. So, be prepared for nine days of posts from me sharing my nine day mono meal fasting. It's not truly fasting, but it's a fantastic way to give the body a break from digesting heavy, complicated meals (even if they are raw).
I'll be sharing all kinds of things in an almost diary-like format. If you're interested in joining me for the nine days, just begin right now. Decide to eat more simply (whatever that means to you for your current diet), and let me know how it's going each day by sharing in the comment section.
Even though I haven't been around much, I think of all of you every day and love you dearly! I hope you've been enjoying all of the fantastic blog posts that Jim has been sharing here on the blog--I know I have!
*blows kisses*
Lots of love to you,
Wendi

Beautiful, Wendi! Happy Mono Mealing to you, too! Currently I have started doing mostly fasting on VitaMineral Green with one meal a day, usually a very simple salad or green smoothie. Not sure why I started this a few days ago, but seemed like the right thing to do. So will happily join you in this celebration! Blessings! xxxooo

Hi there, Tracey! Thanks for the comment. How have you been feeling on the VitaMineral Green fasting with a salad or smoothie? It's interesting when we find ourselves doing things, not really knowing what made us make the change. Our bodies are so amazing and when we listen on the deepest level we can learn so much. I love that you are in tune with your body and are making changes without thinking too much! That's fantastic! Thanks for joining me during this celebration.
Blessings to you, too, sweet Tracey!
I love you!
