Below, you will find a copy of the journal I kept during my transition into, and my first year of, a 100% raw, vegan diet. Some of it is quite personal, but I still wanted to share it with all of you. We may never meet in person, but I feel we are all connected in this world.I want to share my story with you, in hopes that you may learn something about yourself by reading about my journey into the raw lifestyle. Perhaps you'll be inspired (that's my wish), or learn to not make similar mistakes.
The journal begins in July of 2006 and continues into October 2007. If you are interested in reading something from the beginning, please use the archive feature at the right side of this page. If a month has more than one page worth of entries, there will be a "previous entries" link at the bottom of the page to view the rest of the entries for that month.
I have not edited my entries at all. Any entries that were originally marked private have been made public (with the exception of one that included personal information about people other than myself). Even though the entries are old, you are still welcome to add comments or ask questions. We will be notified of any comments that are left.
Again, I hope that I am in some way able to offer something positive to your life by sharing my personal Going Raw Journal.
Lots of love and peace to all of you,
Wendi
XOXOXO
I'm feeling a bit better this evening. I'm building up my inner self again, getting to a point of balance after being knocked down.
The following isn't directly raw-food related. However, since eating raw foods is about so much more than the food, it brings with it the ability to become more of the person you truly are meant to be, it is quite relevant.
I revisited my recent Rob Brezsny horoscope that I held out, wondering what it meant. Usually I can find some kind of meaning in his scopes (not that I live my life by them), but this time I didn't. So, I held it aside and I pulled it up today because I had a feeling it was finally going to make sense.
I'm going to sometimes keep track of what I'm eating.
So far today (I'll update this entry by tomorrow to include everything):
1/4 of a carob coconut smoothie (whole smootie consisted of: young coconut meat and water, few handfuls almonds, 4 tablespoons hemp protein powder, 3 tablespoons raw carob, one frozen banana, 2 dates)
There is a crisis in health freedom. On April 30, 2007 the FDA will close the public comment period on a "Guidance" which will classify every alternative practice as medicine so that only licensed physicians can carry out the procedure AND vitamins, minerals, herbs, etc., will suddenly become "untested drugs" which will be forbidden.
Bad? Real Bad! But public outcry can stop this assault on your health and your freedom.
Spread the word! Tell everyone in your Circle of Influence, professionals, alternative practitioners, nutrient and herb companies, everyone! Let them know how important their participation is to make sure the FDA backs off from this repressive course.
Here's what I'm eating today:
* 1/2 of a huge cherimoya (yum!)
* 1 small banana
* 1/3 carob coconut shake
* Small salad at co op (green lettuce, spinach, purple cabbage, carrots, onion, broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes) with olive oil, salt, and an avocado
* Fresh veggies juice from co op (carrots, celery, apple, lemon)
* Large not peanut butter cookie
* Avocado
* Carrot Parsley salad with lemon, olive oil, chat masala
